In an innovative approach, the authorities are planning to construct a 2.1km elevated cross taxiway by early 2022 to reduce travel time. It will connect Terminal 1 to Terminal 3 and will be the first of its kind in the country. It would pave way more aircraft to use runway which would enhance air traffic. “A fourth runway parallel to runway 11/29 on the southern side with a length of 4,400 metres would be constructed to increase air traffic movements,"I P Rao, deputy managing director, GMR said.
