Tamil Nadu: Leakage in pipeline results in water wastage near Madurai

Leakage in a pipeline resulted in wastage of large quantity of drinking water near Madurai. The pipeline supplies drinking water from Vaigai dam to Madurai city. A break in a pipe joint at Mudakkusalai resulted in water stagnation on Thurvariman-Kochadai Road, creating hardship for commuters. A team of Madurai Municipal Corporation reached the spot to carry out repair work. The leak was completely arrested by 11.30am.
