Fake currency: Madhubani man detained for Pakistan link
Authorities in Madhubani have apprehended Mohammad Abul Inam, suspected of aiding a Pakistan-based fake currency network. Inam allegedly facilitated the escape of a Pakistani handler and is linked to smuggled counterfeit notes entering India via Nepal. Investigations are ongoing to dismantle this cross-border racket.
Madhubani: In a joint operation, Basopatti police station and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Tuesday detained Mohammad Abul Inam, alias Laden, from Kotwali Chowk in Madhubani town for his alleged links to a Pakistan-based fake Indian currency network operating through the Nepal border route.DSP, Jaynagar, Raghav Dayal said an FIR has been lodged at Basopatti police station in this connection and further investigations are underway.

According to police sources, Inam is suspected of having connections with people involved in sending counterfeit Indian currency notes reportedly printed in Pakistan and smuggled into India about a year ago. He is also accused of helping a Pakistani national, Mohammad Ansari, an alleged handler, escape through the Nepal border route in a fake currency smuggling case.Security agencies believe the racket involves smuggling high-quality fake Indian currency printed in Pakistan and routed through Nepal into Bihar, particularly targeting areas along the India-Nepal border in Madhubani district.Officials said efforts are on to trace and apprehend the absconding Pakistani national.
