Rajiv Gandhi killer’s mercy plea: SC puts onus on TN governor

The Supreme Court of India has put the onus on TN governor for considering the mercy plea of Rajiv Gandhi's killed AG Perarivalan. The central govt had earlier said that it does not concur with Tamil Nadu govt's proposal to release the seven convicts. Former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on 21 May, 1991 at an election rally.
