Captain Amarinder Singh quit as Punjab chief minister on Saturday. Amarinder Singh's resignation gave a boost to Navjot Singh Sidhu's camp who persistently targeted the outgoing chief minister in the past. Sidhu's elevation as state party president too was a bone of contention between the two leaders. Now, the party will have to give a similar performance as what Captain did for the party in the last two Punjab assembly elections.
