Karnataka: Bengaluru woman held in rape case gulps down BP tablets

A 40-year-old woman arrested in a rape and robbery case allegedly attempted suicide by overdosing on BP tablets at Siddapura police station on Monday evening. Kamakshi, a vegetable vendor and resident of Hombegowdanagar, is stable and out of danger, police said, quoting doctors treating her at Jayanagar government hospital. Police said Kamakshi’s husband Kumar allegedly sexually harassed a 24-year-old homemaker near his residence. The woman was breast-feeding her one year-old daughter around 1.30pm on Sunday in her house. Kumar is said to have barged in and pulled the baby. He also touched her inappropriately and tore her clothes.
