Karnataka police arrested four people for breaking into the Madrasa of Mahmud Gawan. The 550-year-old Madrasa is an ancient Islamic college and is listed as a monument of national importance according to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). The four accused reportedly splashed vermilion and also performed some prayers at the madrasa.
