Dear America, you’re already great — With love, Canada
NEW DELHI: A social media campaign started by a Toronto-based agency is helping America cheer up amid the election frenzy that has engulfed the nation.
The campaign has been named “Let’s Tell America It’s Great" — an apparent dig at Donald Trump's campaign, "Make America great again".
Using the hashtag #tellamericaitsgreat, Canadians are sending videos of themselves telling Americans why they’re already great.
Be it their cultural diversity, music, technology or lifestyle in general, the Canadians are sending innumerable reasons to the Americans to boost their spirits as it braces for a rather fractious presidential election.
Sample a few:
The advertising agency called 'The Garden' also posted a compilation video on YouTube in which the Canadian neighbours can be seen praising the Americans, irrespective of their own political affiliations.
The video has received more than half a million views so far.
In a blog post titled 'A friend in need', the agency said, "It's no secret that America is going through a hard time right now. They've been bombarded with a tremendous amount of negativity, and it's likely that for many of them, the immediate future seems rather bleak."
The Americans returned the warm gesture with the same love. They thanked all the people sending love across with the hashtag #TellCanadaThanks.
