Exclusive - Ratris Khel Chale 3 fame Bhagya Nair: Some said I should rather work in South industries but my focus is acting regardless of the language

Popular Marathi TV show Ratris Khel Chale 3 is entertaining the audience with its horror drama. While all the actors of the show have put up a commendable show, an actress surprised everyone with her performance and fluency in Marathi despite being a South Indian. This is the first time ever a South Indian actress is playing a pivotal role on Marathi television, and she is Bhagya Nair aka Kaveri. In an exclusive chat with Etimes TV, Bhagya spoke about her decision to step into the Marathi TV industry, how she managed to speak Marathi fluently and how she reacts to trolls and criticism.

Actually, I was so active in my college plays and activities. I also had a special place for Marathi theatre. One day I was doing a play in my college in Mumbai, and our Ratris Khel Chale maker Pralhad Kudtarkar aka Paandu, was the judge. He saw my performance and told me that he is going to cast me in his TV show Ratris Khel Chale and that's how I got into Marathi TV. (PC - Instagram)

I love to speak Marathi, and I have massive respect for this language because I have grown up in such an environment where my friends and everyone speaks Marathi, and I try my best to know what they are talking about. I do speak the language but sometimes make grammatical mistakes. Even while doing the scenes, I try to talk more accurate and authentic Marathi. Another plus point is that I have a good memory and that helps me perform better. (PC - Instagram)

Sainkeet and I have a lot of fun together off-screen. We play games during our free time like thumb fights, Ludo though I often lose to him but yes, we both enjoy a lot. My co-star Sainkeet aka Abhiram is a gem of a person, and I like to perform with him. He never shows any tantrums despite being a senior to me. It's a pleasure working with him. (PC - Instagram)

First of all, I am South Indian, and I am doing a Marathi TV show. So, people will talk about it. Some asked me why I am working in Marathi TV rather than working in South Indian languages. I want to tell them that no matter where I work, whether it's a Hindi, Marathi, or a Malayalam show, I am living my dream. I am doing what I like to do. What matters to me is my performance, acting, and how I entertain the masses. My focus is on acting, regardless of the language. (PC - Instagram)

Recently, I received a message on social media from a netizen, and he asked me why I am working in this industry and that I should not perform here but rather go to the South. Also, there is a lot of trolling that happens on social media. I don't even react to these trolls nowadays because I am working hard every day to perform better, and these guys are staying at home and doing nothing but trolling. I don't want to waste my time and energy on them, and I simply ignore them. I will keep doing what I have to do, and you have to bear with it, no matter what.
