Exclusive: Had decided will not do TV but got an interesting role in KavyaAnjali and couldn't resist myself, says Nayannah Mukey

Marathi TV actress Nayannah Mukey was recently roped in the show KavyaAnjali. The actress is playing the parallel lead role of Nikita in the show and this is the first time she will be seen in a positive character. Nayannah spoke exclusively with ETimes TV about her new show, why she decided to be a part of the KavyaAnjali when she had thought of not doing any TV show, her chemistry with Prasad Jawade, and more.

Talking about her decision of not to do any TV show and why she accepted the offer of KavyaAnjali, she said, "I had done several television shows so far and I wanted to challenge myself in a different medium and role. I had decided that I won't do any TV show but I got the offer of KavyaAnjali and I could not stop myself from doing it."

When asked about her role as Nikita and how her auditions happened for the show, Nayannah said, "Sai Deodhar is the producer of the show. I gave my first audition and she immediately said that Nayannah is apt for Nikita's role. I am happy that I got the chance to play a positive role for the first time on-screen."

I knew Prasad already. We never worked together. In the show, Prasad and I are playing the roles of Pritam and Nikita. Nikita has feelings for Pritam as she has known him since childhood. The twist in the story is, Anjali too loves Pritam. The audience will know more about the story soon.

I consider myself really fortunate that I got this opportunity. I was not ready to be a part of TV but my destiny does not want me to leave TV. I hope KavyaAnjali will entertain the audience the way it did in the Kannada language as Bhagyalakshmi.

Nayannah had worn a blouse of a spiritual guru in one of the episodes of Sukh Mhanje Nakki Kay Asta and a case was registered against her and she left the show later. Recalling the memories about the show, Nayannah said that she never wanted to hurt anyone's feelings. She said, "We as a team of SMNK never thought of hurting viewers' sentiments. It did not happen purposely and we apologised for the same. People should not make issues of such things."
