Prajakta Gaikwad refutes Alka Kubal's claims; alleges use of foul language on the set
Actress Prajakta Gaikwad, who was portraying the role of Arya in the Marathi show 'Aai Majhi Kalubai', has reportedly quit the show. She has alleged that her co-star Vivek Sangle used foul language while addressing her when she refused to travel with him in the same vehicle.
Speaking to us about the same, Prajakta says, “Not long ago, more than 20 members of our show had tested positive for COVID-19 and Vivek was helping them in the hospitalisation process. Since he had come in contact with those who had tested positive, as a precautionary measure, I raised a concern about travelling to the sets with him in the same vehicle. However, on hearing that, he used foul language and abused me. I informed the producer of the show, actress Alka Kubal, and the channel as well. But neither party took any action.” Prajakta adds that while the show promotes women empowerment, the team isn’t walking the talk on the sets. “A simple sorry would’ve helped, but that wasn’t happening. So, I decided to quit the show,” she shares.
While Prajakta alleges ill-treatment on the sets, Alka, who is also part of the show as an actress, alleges that it was Prajakta’s ‘unprofessional behaviour’ that led to her exit from the show. “The issue of foul language used by a co-star that Prajakta is raising is just a reason to cover up her behaviour. She had been reporting very late to the sets and would take leaves to attend other events. Many a times, she would cite health issues or her engineering examination as excuses to not report to the sets. We were anyway going to ask her to leave, but when she came to know of that, she has come up with this reason to make it look like she is quitting the show on her own,” informs Alka.
On his part, Vivek, who, according to Prajakta, is the reason behind her quitting the show, says, “Prajakta refused to travel with me in the car arranged for by the production house. I called up my friend, who is an executive producer of the show, and asked if I should leave without her. He told me the reason she was reluctant to travel with me and reacting to that, I used foul language while addressing him, not her. But Prajakta is using that as a reason for her exit from the show. The truth is that her unprofessional behaviour is the reason behind her exit.”
After Prajakta’s exit, actress and former 'Bigg Boss Marathi' contestant Veena Jagtap has been roped in to play the role of Arya on 'Aai Majhi Kalubai'.
