Star Singer: Shivapriya impresses in 'Do or Die'; Sithara Krishnakumar calls her a potential winner
Star Singer contestant Shivapriya is winning hearts with her versatile performances in the show. The singer who grabbed a golden star for her energetic performances in the Move it with improvisation round has now impressed the judges with a semi-classical song.
In the Do or Die round, Shivapriya was seen paired with Vaishakan. The duo has sung the evergreen Malayalam song 'Swarna Meeninte.' Undoubtedly, the duo just nailed it with perfection. From add-on improvisations to clarity in each line, their performance was nothing short of a treat for music lovers. But Vaishakan missed a stanza during the performance, which even made judge KS Chithra sad. However, despite the error, the duo managed to complete the performance with perfection. Even the three judges, KS Chithra, Sithara Krishnakumar, and Vidhu Prathap, gave a standing ovation to the contestants after the performance.
"It was indeed a golden star performance. I am so sad you made that error, Vaishak. Except for that, everything was perfect in the performance. I got goosebumps listening to your singing. But Vaishak, congrats on completing the song without any tension. In short, my heart is full," KS Chithra said.
The singer also appreciated Shivapriya for her clarity in every notation. Interestingly, Chithra has called the contestants to her dais and given them a special prize for their exceptional performance too.
"It was a mesmerising performance. This is already a tough song, and you guys presented it in an even tougher way. Shivapriya, it was too good. I don't know what has happened to you in the initial episodes, but this is literally a strong comeback for you. You have become one of the potential winners now," judge and singer Sithara Krishnakumar said.
In the round, Shivapriya managed to get 51% of the votes, and she became the winner of the round. As per the rule of the Do or Die round, Shivapriya will get 5 points, whereas Vaishakan's mark will be zero.
Star Singer continues to be one of the much-loved music shows on Malayalam TV. The show currently features the top 10 contestants of the season.
