World Radio Day: From Vinayak Joshi to Siri, a look at Radio Jockey turned TV hosts

Kannada TV has produced many talented TV hosts. Interestingly, some of them were talented Radio Jockeys too. On the occasion of World Radio Day, here’s a quick look at the RJ turned TV hosts in the industry.

Vinayak Joshi boasts of a successful career of 7 years in radio. His show 'Aithalakdi morning' was one of the most popular shows in Bangalore. He is also known for his performances in television shows like Kuniyonu Baara and Saregamapa Li'l Champs Season 6. Currently, he is also seen in the popular daily soap 'Brahmagantu'.

Shraddha became a household name with her morning show in a popular radio station. Besides a successful stint as a RJ, she also hosted the Kannada dance reality show, 'Dancing star' along with host Akul Balaji. Interestingly, she is also the voice behind the 'Bigg Boss radio' in Bigg Boss Kannada season 7.

Be it radio jockeying, acting or hosting a show, Sujatha surely knows how to woo the audience. Known for her stint in Bigg Boss Kannada 7, Sujatha is currently hosting the cookery show 'Kitchen Darbar'.

Although he started his career in acting, Chandru's entry to the radio industry is worth a mention. His show 'Retro Talkies' along with wife Sihi Kahi Geethi was popular among the listeners. He is also known for hosting the popular cooking show 'Bombaat bhojana'.

Having a successful career in radio for a few years, Siri made her television debut as host with the popular music reality show 'Kannada Kogile season 2'. Currently, she is hosting the comedy show 'Majaa Bharatha'.

Malvika is one of the most versatile actresses in the Kannada entertainment industry. Her Radio program 'Life Ishtene' was a hit. She also hosted a TV show 'Badaku Jatka Bandi' on a leading Kannada channel.
