Ritvvikk Mathad returns to the small screen
After a brief hiatus, actor Ritvvikk Mathad, who made his small screen debut with the serial Anuroopa, is set to be back on television. The actor is the lead in the new serial Gini Rama, directed by Preetham Shetty, which is set in North Karnataka and has, therefore, been extensively shot in Lakshmeshwara in Gadag district.
Ritvvikk says, “I am from Belagavi, so I am quite familiar with the North Karnataka dialect, which helped, because that is what we are using in the series as well. I have been away from the small screen for four years, during which time I was busy with films. My third film, Namma Utsava, is nearing completion. After Moodalamane, Gini Rama will be my second full-fledged Kannada serial. I am really happy that my return is with a serial that will explore not just the dialect, but the culture of North Karnataka as well, something that you don't even get to see in Kannada films very often.”
As for his role in Gini Rama, Ritvvikk says, “I play Shivaramu, an uneducated guy who is a local money lender. He is very rugged, but he also does work for the good of society. I am paired with Nayana on this show.”
