The ongoing storyline of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been focusing on the face-off between Abhira and
Geetanjali over little Maira. While Abhira wants nothing more than to spend time with her daughter, Geetanjali has been doing everything she can to keep them apart. From manipulating situations to trying to turn Maira against her mother, Geetanjali has done everything.
Recently, Maira agreed to stay with Abhira, but not without conditions. Geetanjali gave her one month to “prove herself” as a mother all while secretly plotting against her. Abhira soon discovered one of Geetanjali’s tricks when she found a phone hidden in Maira’s bag, to monitor and control her.
In the current episode, Maira expressed her wish to participate in a national dance competition. Initially, she chose Geetanjali as her partner. But on Armaan’s suggestion, she gave both Abhira and Geetanjali a chance to prove themselves. The dance-off ended with Abhira winning, securing the spot to perform alongside her daughter. Armaan later joined them for the final performance, turning it into a family act.
The performance itself was beautiful but the real twist came right after. As the trio took their final pose, a bulb hanging above them suddenly burst. Before it could harm them, Abhira quickly pushed Armaan out of the way and held Maira close. In the process, some glass shards fell and cut Abhira’s leg. While she tried to remove the glass despite the pain, she stumbled — and that’s when Maira shouted “Mumma!” for the very first time. The moment was enough to make Abhira forget her injury. Watching from backstage, Geetanjali’s expression turned from shock to clear disappointment.
The competition ended with Maira and Abhira being declared as the winners. Maira proudly lifted the trophy with her mother and ran to tell Armaan about their victory. Armaan overjoyed, picked Maira up and hugged Abhira, creating a beautiful family moment after seven years filled with smiles and joy.
Meanwhile, Anshuman congratulated them, calling “AbhiMaan” a great jodi. His comment, however, left both Abhira and Armaan a little unsettled. Leaving viewers to wonder whether Anshuman’s words came from his heart, hoping for their reunion, or if he was trying to taunt them.
