Bhumika Gurung talks about her marriage and how she has been enjoying this new phase of life
After dating for more than a year, actress Bhumika Gurung, best known as TV's Nimki Mukhiya, tied the knot with businessman Shekhar Malhotra in March this year. The actress had an intimate ceremony attended by their families and close friends. In an interview with us, she spoke about spending time with her husband, why they haven't gone on their honeymoon yet and her work. Excerpts....
'Life changes for the better if you are married to the right person'
Currently she is in a happy space. Talking about how life has changed post marriage, she shares, "Life changes for the better if you are married to the right person. My life has changed in many ways. I have never been so happy before and my family and friends can also see this change in me. I have become more positive than what I was earlier."
'We are yet to plan our honeymoon'
Even though the actress is enjoying life post marriage, she still hasn't been on her honeymoon. Bhumika reveals, "We are yet to plan it. That's because right after we got married, I got the show Hara Sindoor. I took it up because I was looking for work for some time. But then I couldn't take a break." But the couple is balancing their work and personal life well. "Shekhar is into the hotel business, so he finishes very late. Sometimes we even go to each other's work place to spend time " she says.
'Shekhar loves me unconditionally and is loyal to me'
In an earlier interview with us, she had spoken about Shekhar. She had said, “It is about the way the person makes you feel and Shekhar makes me feel safe and secure. He loves me unconditionally and is loyal to me. I think in today’s time, loyalty is something which has become rare. He not only gives me time but makes me feel good about myself. He is there for me and even for my family and friends. When we are together, we don’t need anyone else.”
It was a dream wedding for Bhumika
Just before her wedding, Bhumika had told us that this is what she always wanted. She had said, “I am super exhausted and tired, but I love the feeling that I will soon be married to someone who I want to spend the rest of my life with. It's a different feeling altogether. We were both waiting for this day to come!"
When Bhumika revealed her relationship a year back
A year ago, Bhumika had revealed that she was in a relationship with Shekhar. In an interview with us, she had said, “When the right person comes along, I think whatever we plan goes for a toss and things happen the way they have to happen.”
'I wasn't getting work for sometime'
The actress, who is currently seen in Hara Sindoor, says that she was unable to get work since last year. Bhumika says, "I had put on a few kilos last year after the pandemic and whenever I went for an audition, it wouldn't work out. I realised later that it was because of my weight, so I started working out and got fit. That's when I got this show this year after marriage."
