Never give up attitude

Anita Raj’s never give up attitude is commendable. Her fitness videos from the weight training session is hardcore. She wrote, “Strength does not come from the physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.” It's never too late, respect your body, nourish it. Go for it !! #strongmind #achieveit #feelgood #focus #commitment #justdoit”

61-minutes plank

Can you beat that! Anita says, “When you work towards something every day, you achieve it. By the grace of God, I have a strong core. So, every time I used to do a plank, I used to increase it by one-minute. Then, two years back I did a plank for 61 minute. To do a plank for an hour, you need that dedication and I did it for myself. I challenged myself.” Photo: Instagram

Inspired at 56

The way I lead my daily life, my strength is my family and Buddhist practice. I always had a strong mind and fitness has been my passion. I was way ahead of times. I had released a fitness video in 1989. My journey with fitness has been very long. Photo: Instagram

Secret to stay fit

A healthy mind is a healthy body. For me, the strongest battle is with the mind. If your mind is healthy, your body has to be healthy. Never give up. I start my day at 5.30 in the morning, do my chanting and then hit the gym. I do cross fit training. Photo: Instagram

Busting myths

It all depends on your body type and posture. A newcomer can’t do crossfit as it is a strenuous exercise. One has to be very careful with postures while doing weights. With weights, due to incorrect posture, one is often prone to injuries. Whether it is yoga, pilates or weights, you need to have a form and start from beginners level. Photo: Instagram

Discipline is the key to fitness

I lead a very disciplined life. Even if I go on a monthlong holiday, I watch what I eat and I will also workout. That’s my way of life now. ‘I have put on holiday weight’ can’t be an excuse. Your body is your temple, worship it. I don’t starve but very particular about what I eat.

8/12

The most important rule

Watch what you eat. If you follow a good food habit, you can never put on weight. If you are working out for 40 mins and then eat two person’s food, you can’t blame saying, “I have worked out.” You need to keep a track on the nutrients and by that I am not saying just eat boiled food or salads. Don’t eat junk. Photo: Instagram

Anita’s cheat day

Sunday I rest my body and also indulge in eating things I love. But I don’t gorge on food. I have biryani on that day. Instead of 1 toast, I may have 2 toasts. Also, I have a sweet tooth. So, I may have a piece of cake or ice cream. Photo: Instagram

There’s no right time to hit the gym

When my friends compliment me saying I look wow, I feel happy. If I can workout at 20, I can work out at 56. I go to the gym every day. You have to make the time. If you are not working out, go for brisk walking, swimming and be energized to workout. Have proper sleep. A lazy body can’t workout. Photo: Instagram

Inspiration – Jane Fonda

I was always scared to put on weight especially after marriage. I used to workout, but after marriage, my workout regime became more intense. During my initial days, I used to play Jane Fonda’s cassette and workout. She was my inspiration when I started. Photo: Instagram

3 tips before you hit the gym

Firstly, be ready and be regular. Secondly, be careful while you are training. Do have a trainer, who will guide you and keep an eye on your posture. Thirdly, be particular about what you eat. Don’t copy others. Listen to your body. Photo: Instagram
