Veteran Actor Rakesh Pandey passes away At 77 due to cardiac arrest
Veteran actor Rakesh Pandey passed away earlier today (March 21, 2025) at the age of 77. The passed away at 8:49 am at Arogyanidhi Hospital, Juhu, where he was admitted in the ICU. The late-actor passed away due to cardiac arrest. His last rites were performed at Shastri Nagar crematorium, attended by family and close acquaintances.
The actor’s journey in Indian cinema began with a remarkable debut in Basu Chatterjee’s 1969 classic Sara Akash, a film that not only marked him as a promising actor but also earned him the President’s Award. He started his journey in acting with a strong foundation in theater. He trained at the Indian Film and Television Institute (FTII) in Pune and later joined the Bhartendu Academy of Dramatic Arts.
In his early years, he was also associated with IPTA (Indian People’s Theatre Association), where he sharpened his skills and developed a natural, realistic style of acting. His deep connection with theater helped him transition smoothly into films, bringing authenticity to his performances.
Beyond films, Rakesh Pandey was also a familiar face on television. He appeared in popular shows like Chotti Bahu, Dehleez, and the acclaimed historical series Bharat Ek Khoj (1988). After stepping away from acting for over two decades, he made a strong comeback in 2017 with Kapil Sharma’s Firangi, proving his undying love for the craft. In recent years, he continued to take on roles in projects like Hurdang (2022) and the web series The Lawyers Show.
