TV actresses who fought their fears and opened up about their miscarriages

Pregnancy is a beautiful phase in a couple's life. As much as it brings joy, it comes with its own set of challenges and risks especially in the first few months. While most choose not to talk about it, there are a few TV celebs who have fought their fears and spoken about their miscarriages. The latest to join the list is Dipika Kakar. (Photo: Instagram)

Dipika Kakar

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim revealed on January 22 that they are expecting their first child. They shared that they hesitated to make the big announcement earlier as Dipika had a miscarriage in February last year when she was 6 weeks pregnant. The two wanted to wait it out this time. Dipika is in her second trimester now. (Photo: Instagram)

Nisha Rawal

Not once but twice Nisha Rawal shocked everyone by revealing that she had a miscarriage in 2014. The first time was right after she had accused ex-husband Karan Mehra of domestic violence. The second time she spoke about it was in reality show Lock Upp. She said, "I got married in 2012 and had a miscarriage in 2014. The baby was 5 months old. I was in a physically and mentally abusive relationship. As a woman, I was going through a lot of things. There were many instances of abuse I was going through at that time. Being a public figure, I couldn’t share it with anyone. I had no support. I was going through a lot of trauma." (Photo: Instagram)

Ankita Bhargava

In 2018, Ankita Bhargava and Karan Patel announced their pregnancy on social media. However, Ankita suffered a miscarriage when she was in her fourth month of pregnancy. It happened right after they made a public appearance together and came as a shock to the couple. Ankita was unfortunately even trolled for it online. Later, after giving birth to daughter Mehr, Ankita spoke to ETimes TV about the difficult phase, "It was only when I got badly trolled after I miscarried was when Karan lost his calm and made some multiple posts about the ugly trolling happening." Teejay Sidhu

When Karanvir Bohra was in Lock Upp, Nisha Rawal confided in him her story of miscarriage. It led him to share that even he and wife Teejay Sidhu lost their child right before their third daughter Gia was born. He said, "Before Gia we lost a baby during Covid. We were so scared to not tell anyone about it because we didn't want people to say 'Arre yaar ye kya hogaya, kaise ho gaya, kyun ho gaya'. Maybe to protect ourselves we didn't want to say. We had to lie from our own family, from our own relatives. At that point we felt we lost emotional well-being, mental health." (Photo: Instagram)

Gunjan Manaktala

In Bigg Boss 16, Vikas Manaktala told Archana Gautam that his wife Gunjan Manaktala miscarried their first baby. Archana used it against him in one of their big fights right after and taunted him by saying, "Tu dusron ke baap par jaata hai, isliye bhagwan ne tujhe kabhi baap nahi banaya." This made Vikas upset and he opened up to others about it. He said, "I had shared with her about my wife's pregnancy and how my parents were happy that we had conceived but unfortunately she suffered a miscarriage. My parents would be watching and what they must be thinking." The actor even told Shalin about it and asked him to pray to God so they could become parents soon. (Photo: Instagram)

Shilpa Shetty

After the birth of her daughter Samisha via surrogacy, Shilpa Shetty revealed that she suffered multiple miscarriages due to her autoimmune disease. She told an entertainment portal, "After Viaan, I did want to have another child for the longest time. But I suffered from an autoimmune disease called APLA and that came into play every time I got pregnant. So I had a couple of miscarriages so it was a genuine issue." (Photo: Instagram)
