There’s pressure on actors to stay visible, but it also makes casting easier: Navien Pandit
Actor Navien Pandit, who was last seen essaying the role of Ashwin Patel in the television series Pushpa Impossible, has finally addressed his exit from the daily soap. The actor was recently replaced by Samrith Bawa, and Navien says the decision to move on was a conscious one.
Breaking his silence, he shares, “As an artist, I felt it was the right time to move out of the show. An actor needs to be aware of the right moment to leave the stage and make quick decisions for self-growth and exploring fresh opportunities.”
Looking ahead, Navien says he is focused on what lies next. “I’m looking forward to entertaining my audience with new roles. I want to play promising and challenging characters — roles that are intensely written, emotionally deep, and connect strongly with the audience. Characters where I can speak through my expressions. I’m also manifesting lead roles, but honestly, anything that excites me creatively, I’m open to trying.”
Having spent nearly eight years in the television industry, the actor believes adaptability is key to survival. “The industry is evolving constantly. With time, things are changing, especially with social media. There’s pressure on actors to stay visible online, but it also makes casting easier. Today, we can audition from home and send our work digitally,” he explains.
Navien adds that change should be embraced, not resisted. “There are pros and cons to everything. With time, you need to move on, accept the changes, and understand the market's demands instead of complaining. You have to go with the flow and keep evolving yourself.”
Apart from Pushpa Impossible, Navien has been part of shows like Bade Bhaiyaa Ki Dulhaniya, Ranju Ki Betiyaan, Dil Sambhal Jaa Zara and Tenali Rama.
