The Kapil Sharma Show: Taxi drivers refusing Juhi Chawla to stick her film's posters to Archana Puran Singh giving the nod to cast Juhi in a film; interesting revelations made on the show

This weekend, The Kapil Sharma Show's couch was graced by the beautiful and top actresses from the 90s era. Juhi Chawla, Madhoo and Ayesha Jhulka re-lived some old memories and the episode was a thorough nostalgia for those in love with the 90s films. While interacting with the host, Kapil Sharma, the actresses made some interesting revelations that would leave everyone stunned. Here's the highlights from the recent episode. Read on:

Juhi Chawla and Aamir Khan's film, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak is still fresh in people's hearts. The actress became a star post this film but prior to its release, she went to the taxi drivers and requested them if she could paste her film's posters on the back of the cab. Juhi recalled, "I still remember when our movie was going to be released. Nobody knew us. Remember, at that time, it was a common practice for taxis to carry film posters. There was a long line of taxis below our building, so I would go from driver to driver requesting them to put up the posters. They would ask, ‘Who’s he?’, and I would say he is the hero, Aamir Khan. They would then point to my image on the poster and ask, ‘Who’s she?’, and I would say, ‘This is me.’ And they would say, ‘No, no’, and shoo us away. But some did reply sweetly, allowing us to put up the posters."

Juhi Chawla also shared that unlike today's times, where box office numbers are received at a click of the button, they had to visit the theatres to gauge the numbers. "In those days, it was not like today, when daily collection figures are public knowledge in a day. We would stand outside theatres to see if people were going in to watch the movie or not. And we slowly came to know that people actually like our movie." On enjoying the stardom after QSQT's release, Juhi said, "For a long, I just couldn’t understand what happened."

Juhi Chawla made another revelation on the show where she said that her husband and Madhoo's husband are cousins. Madhoo revealed that Juhi Chawla is her 'devraani' (sister-in-law). Kapil further asked, if at family functions, Juhi's songs are played, does she ask the DJ to put on her song. To which, Madhoo said that she enjoys and dances on all the songs.

Madhoo shared that she lived in Karol Bagh, Delhi and a lady always compared her to a flower and called her 'Madhoo.' Due to which, everyone started calling her 'Madhoo' and her father, too, wrote her name as "Madhoo Malini" in the school's admission form. However, her real name is Padma Malini. This was news to both, Ayesha Jhulka and Juhi Chawla. Juhi said, "We are from the same family but I never knew."

Ayesha Jhulka told Kapil Sharma that he is only talking about all the actresses' husbands and more than 'Dussehra special' it feels as though it is 'Husband Special' episode. Kapil said that he is also just asked about his wife and kids. Kapil then passed a comment on Archana Puran Singh and Juhi Chawla quickly jumped in to say that she supports Archana. The actress said, "I am with Archana, he cracks so many jokes on you, he's got more jokes because of you."

Archana Puran Singh made a revelation on the show about how she gave a nod on casting Juhi for the film, and the latter became the centre of attraction. Archana said that she was the lead of the film and needed a supporting actress. She was shown a picture of Miss India (Juhi Chawla) and Archana Puran Singh asked the makers to cast her. Interestingly, the climax scene became all about Juhi and she got all the dialogues whereas Archana was tied behind in a rope in the film. Juhi Chawla, who was unaware about it, was touched by this gesture and thanked Archana.
