The Kapil Sharma Show: Kapil gets teased for missing in action and failing to marry Deepika Padukone
Kapil Sharma is back in form with The Kapil Sharma Show, which aired on December 29. The first episode was a laughter riot and had Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty as guests. With the presence of popular comedians, it made for an entertaining watch. Just in case you missed watching it, here are some of the highlights:
Navjot Singh Sidhu says encouraging words to Kapil:
Navjot Singh Sidhu set the tone of the show with his shayari, encouraging Kapil to continue his journey and let go of the past. Kapil mocked the time he was at home and talked about people’s comments. He shared how people’s perception changes when one is idle, and how he got enough time to notice everything little and big.
Kapil mocks himself:
Kapil was exceptionally funny in his starting monologue. His comparison of an idle man at home and a dog for instance was hilarious. He made fun of the free advice he got from people, which actually didn’t prove to be so useful. He told the audience he never worried about 5 AC’s running at his home when he was working, but it wasn’t the same when he was idle as he would even look inside the bathroom to see if all the switches were off.
Kapil pays compliment to a pretty girl in the audience:
Kapil then interacted with the audience and asked them their experience of being advised by a friend. A man shared how his friend once asked him to do all sorts of weird things to cure his back pain, nothing of which helped him until he went to the doctor. Like his previous shows, Kapil again flirted with a girl and praised her for being beautiful.
Chandan Prabhakar, Bharti Singh and Kiku Sharda entertain:
Chandan Prabhakar entered as Chandu. Kapil made fun of him which the latter took sportingly. Chandan also defended his acts. Kiku Sharda came as Bacha Yadav on the stage. He and Chandan blamed Kapil for making them unemployed. Bharti Singh joined them. She was seen as Bacha’s wife. Bharti joked about washing kids in the washing machine and made the audience laugh out loud.
Sumona Chakravarti flirts with Kapil:
Sumona Chakravarti was seen as Bharti’s younger sister Bhuri. Unlike her previous stints, she was dressed in a white gown and sported a shorter hairstyle. Sumona and Kapil got some time alone on stage, giving Kapil a chance to make fun of her English and cheap antics. Sumona retorted by telling Kapil how she has a great future, but just then Bharti (her sister) called her to pick the cow dung before it turned cold.
Krushna hints at the days of his rivalry with Kapil:
Krushna Abhishek and Kapil talked about their previous shows and how they did one after the other in competition. It seems they have now buried their past. Krushna joked about money being a major factor that led him to do The Kapil Sharma Show. He even teased Bharti for joining him in Kapil’s show by saying that even she has to pay her EMIs.
Kapil upset with Ranveer for marrying his love Deepika Padukone:
Ranveer brought a lot of energy to the show. Kapil showed he was unhappy with Ranveer for marrying Deepika Padukone. While talking about their marriage, Kapil said, “shaadi mujhe chidhane ke liye kari hai, ek baar nahi baar baar (hinting at his 5 receptions). When Ranveer told Kapil he feels at home being on his show, Kapil said that he knows Ranveer tells other people “Yeh (the show) meri biwi ka mayka hai.”
Kapil and Ranveer make fun of their clothes:
The two made fun of the clothes they were wearing. While Ranveer called himself red velvet cupcake, Kapil told him his clothes were made by local ‘dada’. Navjot Singh Sidhu was teased with Waqar Younis’ name. Kapil made fun of Ranveer’s wedding venue which was difficult for him to pronounce. Chandan re-entered and joked about Kapil’s struggling days. He compared Kapil’s journey with Ranveer, who is now married to Deepika.
Mayus Ali Khan’s act makes the audience laugh out loud:
Mayus Ali Khan’s entertaining act left everyone in splits. Chandan, Ranveer, Navjot Singh surrounded Kapil and teased him for not being able to marry Deepika. It was only when Kapil brought a sword that Mayus Ali Khan got off the stage.
Rohit Shetty adds to the fun
Post this Rohit Shetty made a smashing entry. Kapil welcomed him on his ‘boni’ day (first episode). Kapil tried to change the topic from Deepika but they all continued to tease him. They said Ranveer’s baby would call Kapil ‘mama’. Kapil asked Rohit if comedy people like him could also do action. Rohit Shetty mocked him and diverted the question. Disturbed with Rohit’s talks about Deepika, Kapil joked about asking the channel to edit Rohit’s mockery of him.
