The Kapil Sharma Show, January 13 , 2019, Highlights: Shatrughan Sinha revealed he was once caught cheating red-handed by wife Poonam

The episode of The Kapil Sharma Show started with veteran Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha making a grand entry with Kapil. After hugging Navjot Singh Sidhu, the yesteryear actor delivered a shayari for him which is usually done by the former cricketer. Kapil pulled both Shatrughan Sinha and Sidhu's leg by asking if they want all of them to leave as the two are busy enjoying their own jugalbandi.

Shatrughan Sinha was earlier rumoured of being upset with Kapil as the latter mimicked him in the last season of TKSS. However, the Bollywood superstar cleared the air and revealed that he is super proud of Kapil and his achievements.

Kapil Sharma being his witty-self asks Shatru ji about his female fan following and also how fans must be crazy about getting his autographs back then. He requested Shatru ji to tell his fans if he had ever taken an autograph from anyone and who that person was. Shatrughan Sinha then revealed that the first autograph he had ever taken was of his daughter Sonakshi Sinha. He also revealed an interesting incident on autographs which had almost led to a break-up. Pahlaj Nihalani, former Chairman of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), was dating his now wife and she had come to listen to one of the motivational talks that Shatrughan Sinha was delivering at a place nearby. She was a big fan of Shatru ji and took his autograph after the event. Pahlaj Nihalani despite being a huge fan of Shatru ji got pretty upset with her saying, “Tumne ek villain ka autograph le liya,” so much that he didn’t speak to her for six months. But everything got sorted between them later on and the best part is that she has till date saved that autograph of Shatru ji.

He played negative roles at the beginning of his career and Kapil didn't lose an opportunity to inquire whether his family had an issue with him playing ‘Raavan’ type roles. It’s a known fact that Shatrughan Sinha’s family is named after the characters in Ramayan and his bungalow in Juhu is called Ramayan. To which Shatrughan Sinha shared that he was a late-latif and was known in the industry for his late-latifi. Superstar Manoj Kumar, whom Shatruji treats as his elder brother, once had said that it is because of his late-latifi that he is getting all Raavan type roles and had he been punctual with his time, he would have bagged the roles of Ram (positive characters). Since Shatru ji was still setting his foot in the industry back then, he grabbed every opportunity that came his way and over a period of time, he did start getting positive characters to essay on the big screen.

He also confirmed the rumour that he had slept-off during the narration of Kalicharan. It was Subhash Ghai’s first movie as a director and Shatru ji recalls, “Those days, I was working multiple shifts and had returned home at 3am and Subhash Ghai came to my house at 4am and insisted on narrating the script of Kaalicharan. Since this time of the morning is Brahmamuhurtha (which is good for meditation) and Subhashji wasn’t narrating verses from Ramayan, it was obvious for me to doze off.” He further added that during the narration, he completely missed the interesting part of NO17 that received a lot of adulation from the audience once the movie released. NO17 upside down read LION – the most famous villain in the history of Bollywood essayed by late Ajit saab. Next morning, producer NN Sippy called Shatru ji and praised the script and told him that he should do this movie – which he did and rest as they say is history. Subhash Ghai went on to deliver super hit movies like Vishwanath and Gautam Govinda with Shatrughan Sinha.

Well, everyone is aware that Shatrughan Sinha in real life has four brothers who are named after the Dashrath brothers – Ram, Lakshman, Bharat, Shatrughan from the mythological tale of Ramayana and Shatru ji’s bungalow in Mumbai is called ‘Ramayan’. But not many are aware that the names of Shatru ji’s twin sons -Luv and Kush has been kept by the legendary actor Manoj Kumar. Immediately after their birth, even before Shatrughan Sinha and and Poonam Sinha could think and decide on the names of their sons, Manoj Kumar had kept their names and said, “Ramayan Mein ab Luv-Kush aa gaye.”

Shatrughan Sinha's wife Poonam is one of the most beautiful star wives. However, not many know that Poonam Sinha's mother had first rejected the marriage proposal. The actor revealed about the same on the show. Another unknown fact that viewers learnt on the show is that Poonam Sinha is a former Miss India.

Apart from funny anecdotes from Shatrughan Sinha's life, the episode also saw some fun moments. Sumona came in dressed as a Bhojpuri actress. And Kapil as usual took her case for choosing the career and told how she will not be able to speak Bhojpuri. The funny banter between them made viewers laugh their lungs out.

Krushna came dressed as another Bhojpuri aspiring actress, who stole the show. From his dancing to his funny one-liners, Krushna entertained audiences with his comedy. He left everyone in splits of laughter with his comedy.

Another highlight of the show was a dance face-off between Krushna, Sumona Chakravarti and Rochelle. Krushna won the competition.

The yesteryear superstar revealed on the show that he was caught red handed by his wife while cheating with another woman after marriage. He joked how his wife warned him and had said if he repeats the mistake again he would have to face dire consequences.
