Shilpa Shinde has quit Gangs of Filmistan ever before its show could premiere on air. The actress stated that the production team lied to her about the safety protocols, work timings, and casting Sunil Grover in this daily comedy show. Shilpa said that they are "exploiting" actors in the name of work. Neha Mehta, who played the role of Anjali Taarak Mehta in the sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has quit the show after 12 years. She stated that there were issues with the production team and told BT, "Yes, there were issues, but I believe that sometimes, silence speaks for itself. Also, I felt that I needed to move on and grow. I do feel that in many areas discipline and decorum was not maintained on the sets. I felt it was important that without creating any hassles, I should gracefully exit the show. But, this does not mean that I have no respect for the show or the production house. Ritvik Arora played the role of Kunal in the show, Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke. Post the lockdown, the actor went missing. While the actor cited COVID-19 situations to be the reason for not returning to the show, producer Rajan Shahi called him "unprofessional," and said that he asked for an exorbitant amount. Rajan said, "Sometimes an actor or a technician may have some concerns and want a change in certain clauses. These things happen, but they have to be discussed proactively. I have always been approachable. But for someone to say that don’t even think of calling if you want to negotiate... negotiate what? You are going against the contract! When they were asked to send an email on this, they started dilly-dallying. A few days later, Ritvik’s father started sending apology messages for laying down those conditions and tried to blame things on the COVID situation. Much before Gangs of Filmistan, Shilpa Shinde had a fallout with the makers of Bhabiji. She became popular as Angoori bhabhi from the show, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. The actress had allegedly accused the makers of "mentally torturing her." Post this, the makers sent a legal notice to Shilpa for breaching the code of the show's contract. Shilpa had told PTI that her co-actor Saumya Tandon was given more preference in terms of giving her personal hair-dressers, makeup artists, and so on. However, Shilpa claims that she had to ask for all of it, and said, "Even if I am demanding a certain pay, it is because of my position." On the completion of 3000 episodes of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, apparently, lead actors, Hina Khan and Karan Mehra's name wasn't credited for the show's success. This led them disappointed and rumours then surfaced about them quitting the show.
