Shrimad Ramayan: Sita set to welcome her twins Luv and Kush after a heart-wrenching separation with Lord Ram
‘Shrimad Ramayan’ is the epic saga of Lord Ram (Sujay Reu) and Sita (Prachi Bansal). In recent episodes, the audience witnessed Lord Ram and Mata Sita conduct rituals in preparation for the arrival of their newborn baby.
In the upcoming episodes, Lord Ram tells Sita that they must separate to protect their soon to be born twins, as Ayodhya’s environment is no longer suitable for raising their kids. Though heartbroken, they agree to part ways for the greater good. Lakshman, (Basant Bhatt) despite his reluctance, takes Sita to the jungle, where she wears clothes worn during exile. Similarly, Lord Ram also gives up his king attire and wears simple clothes to live a life like Sita. In the jungle, Sita meets Lord Valmiki, who offers her a place to live where she gives birth to twin sons, Luv and Kush. As Luv and Kush grow older, they are mesmerised by the tale of Lord Ram and Sita, though they remain unaware that Lord Ram is their father.
Sujay Reu, who plays the role of Lord Ram in Shrimad Ramayan, said, “The storyline where Lord Ram and Sita mutually decide to part ways for the greater good of their children and the kingdom is incredibly poignant and unlike the traditional narratives we have heard so far. While shooting these scenes, we could truly feel the emotional weight of their separation, and it was a deeply moving experience for all of us. As actors, we connected with the characters’ pain, but also their strength and resilience. Lord Ram and Sita’s sacrifice shows how even divine figures must make the hardest decisions for the welfare of others. It’s a perspective that highlights their selflessness, and I believe this will resonate with the audience on a much deeper emotional level.”
Tune in to Shrimad Ramayan every Monday to Saturday at 7.30 PM.
