Earlier, during the day, various reports mentioned that Diljit was dropped from Border 2 over the Sardaarji 3 controversy. While there has been no official confirmation regarding the news, TV actress Rupali Ganguly has now slammed Diljit over Pakistani actress Hania Aamir being part of his film.
Reacting to the news reports of Diljit being dropped from Border 2, Rupali Ganguly supported the decision and wrote, "Border was a film that evoked deep patriotism among the people of our nation. It’s truly disheartening and frustrating to see an actor in #Border2 who fails to recognize his responsibilities towards the country. Kudos to the makers for showing clarity and conviction by dropping that actor from the film. A film that celebrates our soldiers and national pride must reflect that spirit in every aspect. Amid the heated debate over the inclusion of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has addressed a letter to the team behind Border 2. They requested producer Bhushan Kumar to rethink casting Diljit Dosanjh and give importance to national emotions. The filmmakers have not yet released any official response to the same.
