In her Lallantop interview, Anaya shared that she realized her identity at a young age, recalling, “For me, it was when I was eight or nine years old, I used to look into the mirror and say, ‘I am a girl. I want to be a girl.’”

In an interaction with Lallantop, Anaya mentioned how her father told her that there’s no place for her in cricket after she transitioned. She added, “He was just stating the fact that there’s no place for me in cricket. I had to take a stand for myself. I did get suicidal thoughts as it felt like the entire world was against me and the decision I took (hormone therapy to become a woman), now has left me with no space in this system. Even basic opportunities and rights are no longer there for me. I still had space for myself from the family point of view. But it wasn’t there in society, cricket, or the exterior world.”

In a recent episode of Rise and Fall, Anaya alleged that a well-known cricketer sent her an obscene/vulgar photo after she came out publicly. She mentioned receiving a vulgar photo on Instagram from the cricketer. This revelation left all the contestants deeply shocked. She did not name the individual publicly.
