It's always heartbreaking to know that some of our favourite celebrities are no longer with us, even though their memories and on-screen personas live on. Let's rewind and take a look at popular television celebrities who passed away this year and left us teary-eyed.

Sidharth Shukla, who became a household name after his stint in bigg Boss 13, passed away due to cardiac arrest at the age of 40 on September 2. He rose to fame on television because of his role in the popular show 'Balika Vadhu'. The actor was a part of the show for three years, receiving acclaim and several awards. Soon after, he was cast as a co-star in 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania', for which he received critical acclaim. He has also won reality shows like Bigg Boss 13 and Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Veteran actress Surekha Sikri died due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 75 on July 16. Surekha Sikri, a Sangeet Natak Akademi Award winner and alumnus of the National School of Drama, won many hearts with her performances in 'Balika Vadhu', 'Tamas,' 'Kirdaar, and 'Just Mohabbat.' The National Award-winning actress in theatre, film, and television, was known for the film 'Badhaai Ho'.

TV actor Ghanshyam Nayak was best known for his role as 'Nattu Kaka' in the television show, 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.' The actor died due to cancer at the age of 77 on October 3. He was a Gujarati and Hindi actor who appeared in over 100 films. He appeared in over 350 television shows. He was also recognised for his performances in television shows such as 'Khichdi' and 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.'

Veteran actor Anupam Shyam was best known for his role as 'Thakur Sajjan Singh' in the television show 'Mann Kee Awaaz: Pratigya'. The actor's performances in films such as 'Bandit Queen' and 'Slumdog Millionaire,' were widely appreciated. Anupam died due to multiple organ failure on August 8 this year. Anupam Shyam had also appeared in movies such as 'Satya,' 'Lagaan,' 'Dil Se,' and 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.'

Veteran actor Arvind Trivedi, who essayed the role of 'Ravan' in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 superhit Television series 'Ramayan,' passed away on October 6 at the age of 82. The actor died of a heart attack. He has also appeared in television shows such as 'Vikram Aur Betaal.' He had appeared in over 300 Hindi and Gujarati movies. From 1991 to 1996, he was a member of Parliament.

Actress Manisha Yadav passed away on October 1 due to a brain hemorrhage. She was known for her role of 'Salima Begum' in the popular show 'Jodha Akbar'. She has also appeared in the popular comedy show 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'.

Actor Amit Mistry passed away after suffering a major cardiac arrest at the age of 47 on April 23. The actor had appeared in popular television shows such as 'Tenali Rama,' 'Ssshhhh...Koi Hai,' and 'Woh,' among others. His performances in movies like 'Kya Kehna,' 'Ek Chalis Ki Last Local,' '99,' 'Shor In The City,' and 'A Gentleman' garnered him more recognition.

Actor Bikramjeet Kanwarpal passed away at the age of 52 on May 1 due to coronavirus-related complications. Bikramjeet made his acting debut in the 2000s after retiring from the Indian Army. Apart from television shows like '24,' 'Adaalat,' 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' and 'Yeh Hai Chahatein,' the actor was also seen in movies like 'Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year,' 'Aarakshan,' 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' and 'The Ghazi Attack.'
