Rashami Desai steps into theatre, calls it refreshing and transformative
Rashami Desai is embracing a new creative chapter and doing it on her own terms. Best known for her television roles in Uttaran and Dil Se Dil Tak, the actress has now stepped into the world of theatre, making her Gujarati stage debut with the international play Mrs Mara Online Che. She says,
“This is actually my first time being part of Gujarati theatre, and it’s been incredibly refreshing. Theatre demands a completely different discipline and a deeper connection with the audience. Performing in Gujarati added another beautiful layer of learning.”
She adds, “Theatre forces you out of your comfort zone. I enjoy discovering new shades within myself and exploring regional spaces that offer such interesting opportunities."
Taking the play abroad has been equally transformative. “Performing internationally has been overwhelming in the best way. The love from audiences across borders reminds you how deeply art connects people," she shares.
Reflecting on her acting journey, Rashami says she doesn’t dwell on missed opportunities. “Of course, you think about ‘what if’ sometimes,” she admits. “But I believe everything happens at the right time. My journey has given me the clarity and courage to make bolder choices now. I don’t really have regrets—just gratitude,” she adds.
