Ram Kapoor reacts to his fallout with Ektaa Kapoor; says 'She has the right to say anything to me because she has given me shows on platter'

Ram Kapoor has worked with Ektaa Kapoor on several projects and the two share a long standing association with each other. However, a few months ago, their relationship hit a rough patch when Ram made a remark about the intimate scene he did in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The comment upset Ekta Kapoor. Later, she shared a video on social media that seemed like a dig at Ram Kapoor. Ektaa without taking Ram's name, referred him as 'unprofessional actors' in one of her Instagram posts. The fight escalated further when Ram’s wife and actress Gautami Kapoor retaliated with a sly jab at Ekta Kapoor. It quickly turned into a major controversy and spread all over social media.

Now, in the an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit for his YouTube channel, Ram Kapoor has opened up about the controversy, the actor said, "We didn't get a chance to speak to each other, but the matter was handled on social media, the way it should had been handled. So, everything happened for the best only. When this comment thing happened I stayed quite for 6 months because I am not going to make a comment and make social media happy. After 6 months when I was doing press conference and media was asking me then I said okay finally I am making the statement."




He added, "I made the correct statement which kind of explained to everyone that Ektaa can say whatever she wants and she has the right to say that because she has done so much for me that I can never hold it against her. That is the reason why I am not going to react to anything she says and that is the reason I avoided giving statements. Because more than anyone in the industry she has the right to literally say anything to me or about me. She has literally given so many shows to me on platter, how can I ever hold anything against her for what she says. I know her well to know that she appreciated the comment and after that nothing further happened. Even on that thing I didn't dwell on it."

Ram's wife Gautami, who was also a part of the interview, shared her opinion on the matter, she said, "We have immense respect for each other and she is also a Punjabi. Logon ne bahot zyaada bakheda bana rakha hai. We are above all that and I think when we meet next time we will give each other a hug because we go back a long time. We are not going to ever forget that. She has given us what we are today."

For the uninitiated, the controversy started after Ram Kapoor suggested in an interview that Ekta Kapoor faced backlash because of the romantic scenes in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Ekta hit back strongly on social media, writing, “Unprofessional actors giving interviews about my shows should shut up. False information and skewed stories can only last till I talk. But there is dignity in silence."

Ektaa also shared a video mocking Ram Kapoor's drastic weight loss. She playfully referred to the show’s title by saying, “Humein bade hi acche lagte hain.”
