Raju Srivastava's wife seeks prayers as he continues to be on ventilator a month after heart attack; here's how the comedian's health has been faring

Raju Srivastava, who suffered a heart attack on August 10, continues to be on a ventilator. It's been almost a month since the popular comedian has been hospitalized. Here's taking a look at how his health has fared in the past few days.

Several recent reports claimed that Raju Srivastava opened his eyes and held his wife Shikha's hand. There were movements in his limbs as well. After a month, fans were relieved to learn the news.

Clarifying the reports, Raju Srivastava's wife Shikha told BT yesterday (September 6), "All I can say is that his condition is stable and he is still on a ventilator. The medical team is doing their best and we all want your prayers, so that he recovers and is back with us."

Apparently, Raju's chief advisor Ajit Saxena and Raju's close friends visited Lord Hanuman in Panki temple and prayed for his speedy recovery. Wishes have also been pouring in from fans of the comedian on Twitter.

Things had worsened for Raju after he developed an infection which was cured by the medical team. His close family friend Dr. Aneel Morarka shared with us, "Raju Ji had developed an infection a few days back, but that was cured in some time. He had got a fever and that's why the team is now taking utmost precautions to not let anyone come inside. Only his wife and daughter are allowed inside."

It was on August 10 that the news of Raju Srivastava collapsing on the treadmill at a South Delhi gym surfaced and shook everyone. He was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi. ETimes TV had reported that he had been unconscious for several days with few and far body movements.

There are several rumours that continue to float around Raju' health. One was that he has gained consciousness. His family has time and again urged everyone not to believe anything. A close family friend said, "He has been on a ventilator, it was never taken off. He is stable and we are hoping that his condition improves. People should not believe the rumours doing the rounds about his gaining consciousness. Such stories should not be spread, it affects the morale of his dear ones. Raju ji is a fighter and he will fight this out and get better."

Raju Srivastava became hugely popular with the first season of the stand-up comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2005). He has also been part of films like Baazigar, Maine Pyar Kiya, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya, and Bombay to Goa. He was last seen in The Indian Laughter Champion.
