The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) India has written to union minister for fisheries, animal husbandry and dairy, Parshottam Rupala, requesting him to honour late comedian Raju Srivastava for his contribution in prohibiting the sale, manufacture, trade, and possession of illegal spiked bits which are used to control horses.

Raju Srivastava, who breathed his last on September 21, was surrounded by his loved ones at his funeral that took place in Delhi today. His family was seen in an inconsolable state at the last rites. His friends and fans wished him an emotional farewell. (All photos: PTI)

Raju's son, who has been away from the limelight, performed the final rituals while saying his final goodbye to his father.

The king of comedy Raju Srivastava, who passed away at the age of 58, was cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat in Delhi on September 22. His family members and close friends including Sunil Pal, Ahsaan Qureshi were there to bid their final goodbye to the late comedian.

The postmortem of comedian Raju Srivastava was performed using a novel technique, AIIMS forensic department head Dr Sudhir Gupta said on Wednesday.

Today the entire family is in Delhi for the final rites of comedian at Nigambodh Ghat. Raju Srivastava's daughter Antara Srivastava thanked her father's dearest friends and family members who paid their condolences on social media.
