Popular television couples who made headlines for their fights and difference of opinions on set

They may be paired romantically on-screen, but some television actors just don't go along well in real life. Either it's their tiffs or difference of opinions that leads them to keep their relationship strictly professional. Here are some popular couples of the small screen who have made headlines for drifting apart off-screen.

Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey

There were reports of tension between the lead actors of Anupamaa - Rupali Ganguly and Sudhanshu Pandey - recently. Sudhanshu fuelled the rumours further by not tagging Rupali in one of the promos of the show. Talking about it with TOI, Sudhanshu said, "Generally, the practice is to tag people who are associated with the picture and mostly I copy-paste the link I get from someone on my social media. When the show started, Rupali and I posted many videos together because we were married in the show. Now, I am married to Kavya (Madalsa Sharma), so obviously, to promote the track, we will post videos together." Hinting at what went wrong between the two, Sudhanshu added, "Rupali and I are good co-actors and friends, too. There is nothing wrong between us. And a difference of opinion between two actors at times is very normal and can happen any day. There are so many times when you don’t agree on something and get a little upset but then it is over. And that happens not only with actors working on the sets, it also happens between two individuals at home. Rift or cold war are too strong words to use."

Sidharth Shukla and Rashami Desai

Rashami Desai and Sidharth Shukla played husband and wife in television show, Dil Se Dil Tak. However, they had some huge fights off-screen. On Bigg Boss, the actress revealed how Sidharth tried to get her sacked from the show but the makers did not do so. She also shared with her good friend Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Vishal Aditya Singh that Sidharth used to abuse her on the sets in front of the rest of the cast and crew. She further accused him of snatching her dialogues and giving it to Jasmin Bhasin, their co-actor, who was friends with him.

Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena

Madhubala - Ek Ishq Ek Junoon starred Drashti Dhami and Vivian Dsena as the leads. However, the two of them couldn't even see eye to eye. Drashti had back then shared, "Probably, we had a bad phase because of circumstances. It’s not that we don’t talk if we bump into each other. The only thing I will keep in mind if and when I work with him again is keeping a good professional rapport."

5/9

Hina Khan and Karan Mehra

Hina Khan and Karan Mehra played Akshara and Naitik in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Even though the two were loved for their chemistry on-screen, they hardly got along off-screen. In fact, talking about rumours of him not getting along with her, Karan had told TOI in 2019, "I might or might not have a rapport with a person, that’s subjective. Hina and I were never friends to begin with. We had an extremely professional relationship, which worked for the show."

Paridhi Sharma and Rajat Tokas

The two of them were the lead pair of the hit television show, Jodha Akbar. However, they didn't get along well off-screen. Paridhi also refused to kiss Rajat on-screen which made it to the headlines. A source in 2014 had told BT, "Everybody knows that Paridhi and Rajat can’t see eye to eye. They throw their weight around whenever they have to shoot intimate scenes. Paridhi was a little uncomfortable (about the kissing scene) but the director got her to do it all. She wasn’t ready for it. She even expressed reservations about doing a ‘kissing-away-tears’ scene some time back. This time around when she told the production team that her family wouldn't be okay with it, the producer told her that she had mentioned no such reservations while signing on the show."

7/9

Niti Taylor and Param Singh

While Niti Taylor and Param Singh were seen as lovers on-screen in Ghulaam, the two had major issues in real life. Niti even ended up having issues with co-actor Vikas Manaktala over make-up man on the sets. Talking about the same, Niti had told TOI, "I didn't stall the shoot, somebody else did, and I don't intend to reveal that person's name. There were two units on the said day and one of them was scheduled to shoot me first. Yes, I was upset because I too needed a make-up guy, but everything is fine between my co-actors and me."

8/9

Shashank Vyas and Donal Bisht

Shashank and Donal, who starred in Roop - Mard Ka Naya Swaroop' had a small tiff on set and began to keep things strictly professional. It started when Donal was taking her time to execute a scene and Shashank cracked a joke. One thing led to another and Donal ended up getting miffed. When BT contacted Shashank, he said, "Creative differences and arguments are part of every professional sphere, so I am not surprised that it happened here, too. In fact, when I was shooting Balika Vadhu with (late) Pratyusha Banerjee, we used to have creative differences and arguments everyday, but that does not mean that it has to be blown out of proportion and make me look like some villain." Donal added, "We are not here to make friends, we are here to progress in our work and that is more important than anything else. So, it doesn’t matter if Shashank and I are not friends. I don’t think any differences or issues will affect our chemistry or work in the future, too."

9/9

Shivin Narang and Tunisha Sharma

The two played lovers on 'Internet Wala Love' and started off as good friends but their equation changed after Kanwar Dhillon entered the show. Shivin had back then admitted to trouble between them and said, "We don’t talk to each other, but we are thorough professionals and don’t let it affect our performance. I agree that an artiste performs better when the equation with his co-actor is healthy, but I am an actor first and I am here to do my job."
