People who have worked with me will vouch for my professionalism, says Kinshuk Vaidya
The actor was recently accused of being unprofessional by the makers of Punyashlok Ahilyabai
Last week, we had reported that Kinshuk Vaidya was replaced by Gaurav Amlani overnight in Punyashlok Ahilyabai. Producer Nitin Vaidya had told us that he had roped in Gaurav to play the grown-up Khanderao Holkar after Kinshuk failed to adhere to the exclusivity contract. He had said, “A contract was signed with Kinshuk. However, he chose to take up another project and told us that he wanted to opt out of the show. Therefore, we have roped in Gaurav to play the part now. We have also informed CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes’ Association) of Kinshuk’s unprofessionalism.”
While Kinshuk refrained from commenting back then, he has now decided to speak about the issue. He says, “Sometimes, two parties aren’t able to reach an amicable decision and one is left with no choice, but to part ways. That’s how life is. The best way to deal with it is to gracefully accept that it wasn’t meant to happen.”
The actor was signed for the show almost two months ago. He says, “The long wait was one of the reasons I opted out. In the beginning, I was told that the shoot would commence in 10 days. However, there was no update from them and the shoot kept getting delayed. I didn’t take up another show till they released me. I wasn’t comfortable with a lot of things and my concerns weren’t welcomed or addressed. But whatever happens, happens for the best. I take it as a learning experience.”
Talking about being accused of unprofessionalism, he says, “It’s their opinion and needn’t be true. People who have worked with me will vouch for my professionalism. I have been here long enough and acting for more than 26 years. I am not someone who wants to be known as an unprofessional artiste, because acting ke alawa maine life mein kuchh kiya hi nahi hai.”
