Paras Chhabra

In an interview with ETimes TV earlier this year, Paras stated that he is working hard to lose the extra pounds he had gained due to his anxiety issues. Not only that he stated that he had to let go of lots of acting work due to his weight gain. He stated, “I had to refuse a lot of offers for TV shows because of my weight issues. But now I am on the road to fitness. I was 125 kgs a few months back, which is way beyond my normal weight. I had developed breathing and blood pressure issues. At that time I couldn't even exercise much. But slowly I have managed to build my stamina with the help of my trainer," says Paras, adding, "I am 108 kgs at the moment. My weight gain was not that visible because I am beyond 6ft in height. But I could feel that I am slowly becoming obese. Though I have always been in the bracket of 90kgs because of heavy bones, this time too I plan to reach the same weight. Being a typical Punjabi I have never been very lean and thin as I am a complete foodie. But my weight in 90s has been quite healthy for me. Soon I will reach my target.” The former Bigg Boss 13 contestant keeps sharing his gym videos and pics.

Shehnaaz Gill

She shed 12 kgs by eating less calories and applying portion control. She had told ETimes TV back then about how she wanted to show people that losing weight isn't as difficult as they think. And shared that she chooses a high-protein breakfast over a workout.

Saloni Daini

Saloni, a comedian, spoke with ETimes TV about her weight gain during the period of lockdown and how she was chastised for it. Saloni then took it upon herself to lose weight and while speaking with us she had said: “I have lost 22kgs during the lockdown. This is the first time I am sharing my weight-loss story. When lockdown had started, I would eat so much ghar pe. Mom would cook momos, butter chicken, cakes and things like that. One day I was sitting in front of my laptop, watching shows. And suddenly, the screen locked and I saw my face on the laptop. I looked very chubby. I was 80 kg or something at that time. It was the point when I decided to lose weight and be fit and healthy. I followed a diet and worked out every day. Now I am 58. The lockdown has made me lose weight. I would like to thank the lockdown because I couldn’t go out and eat junk food.”

6/10

Bharti Singh

Bharti Singh astounded everyone when she mentioned losing 15 kg before being pregnant. The comedian, who has repeatedly been used as an example in body-shaming jokes, was outspoken about it. In an exclusive interview with BT, Bharti revealed, “Even though I am surprised that I have lost so much weight, I am equally happy because I feel healthy and fit. Abhi saans nahi chadhti aur halka halka feel hota hai. Meri diabetes aur asthma bhi control mein aa gaye hain.”

7/10

Joshua Chhabra

Joshua Chhabra, a model and actor, made a big impression in Splitsvilla. He mentioned that he weighed 120 kg in school and wished to drop weight later. He told ETimes TV, “People used to mock me and I wanted to change that. I am a Punjabi guy. I used to eat and I would gain weight. At one point, it just hit me and I wanted to change my look. I started my fitness journey and lost around 40-50 kilos. I got into sports and joined a gym. I adopted a healthy lifestyle. I quit all types of fatty food. Till now, I am very strict about my diet. I have seen that side of life and I don’t want to go back there. It keeps me focused.” Well, Joshua shared that Hrithik Roshan and Virat Kohli were his inspiration.

8/10

Monika Bhadoria

Monika Bhadoria aka Bawri made some stunning revelations about losing weight for her character in the television show Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Monika stated that she was asked to lose weight in just 20 days which made her suffer from vitamin deficiency. She further told ETimes TV, “Sohil arrived and he also asked me to lose weight. He told me you have to lose weight in 20 days. I straight away told myself it is impossible to lose weight in such a short period. Sohil said if you don’t lose weight we won’t call you for shoots. I tried to lose weight under the unrealistic deadline but I fell sick. It took a toll on my health and I suffered from vitamin deficiency. I fell severely ill and had to take many injections to recover. I can’t tell you how painful that injection phase was. Every day I would take injections and it was so painful that I asked the doctor to find an alternative to the injections. But he said my health was in such a bad state that medicine would not be helpful. After 20 days they did not call me for any shoot.”

9/10

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia

Nimrit Kaur had spoken with ETimes TV about her struggle with losing weight and how she had always had an issue with it. While in school she never had any problem because she wasn’t standing in front of the camera but now it matters and people comment about her weight which causes her discomfort. Even while in Bigg Boss 16 people used to comment about her weight. She also added, “After class 12th I had put on a lot of weight and I used to still wear what I wanted and feel very confident about the way I looked. Because there was no world sitting there and judging or scrutinising me for it. The sad part is, this image is not only limited to this industry. I remember in 12th standard, I had developed the habit of eating all the time. I felt pressured with my studies and board exams. I put on around 23kg and weighed 78kg. After that, I went to college and it didn’t change my outlook. I was confident. I was working out so hard but my body was seeing no changes for the longest time. It got so frustrating that I would consult a nutritionist, get my blood worked and I would meet a different psychiatrist and would try to understand why my body is not reacting. Even when I entered the show people commented on my weight which was weird but I realised that’s how life is and that’s how people are and you can’t do anything. I am happy about the fact that I have broken all these barriers in my head. No matter how I look it hasn’t stopped.”

10/10

Divya Agarwal

Bigg Boss OTT winner Divya had spoken about losing weight. She shared that it was very difficult for her to shed that weight. Divya stated that she wasn’t harsh on her body and shed weight with patience, she said “30th September - realised that I was demotivated and gained a lot of weight! But, I wasn't hard on myself at all...I lost all the weight with patience and consistency! Remember it's all in your head! Never punish yourself for it! Listen to your body and it will swing with you.”
