Not Harshad Chopda, Zain Imam to headline Mukkabaaz opposite Jahnvi Soni
There has been a major revamp on the casting front of the upcoming show Mukkabaaz. We had earlier reported that Harshad Chopda and Fahmaan Khan were being considered for the male lead, while Eshaa Pathak and Munira Kudrati were in contention for the female lead. However, the makers have now opted for an entirely fresh cast.
Zain Imam, who was last seen in Suman Indori, has been finalised to play the male lead, while Jahnvi Soni, known for Paro Sang Dev, has been locked to play the female protagonist.
A source associated with the project shares, “Harshad was in contention, but the deal with him did not work out. We decided to bring in a fresh cast to give the show a new approach. We are slightly behind schedule with the shoot because the casting process took time. However, we will begin shooting soon.” Seasoned actors Sangeeta Kapure and Yash Tonk will also be seen playing pivotal roles in the show.
As previously reported by us, the story of Mukkabaaz revolves around a man who once aspired to become a boxer but could not fulfil his dream. Years later, he discovers immense potential in a young woman and takes it upon himself to mentor her, eventually shaping her into a formidable force in the boxing world. The narrative blends ambition, resilience and emotional conflict, with the makers confident that the underdog journey will resonate strongly with viewers.
Over the years, Zain Imam has been part of popular shows such as Naamkarann, Ishqbaaaz, Ek Bhram Sarvagun Sampanna, Fanaa: Ishq Mein Marjawan and Bekaboo. Jahnvi Soni, on the other hand, has appeared in shows like Ghar Ek Mandir - Kripa Agrasen Maharaj Ki and Dahej Daasi.
