Niki Walia: I am in a very happy space, workwise

Niki Walia has started shooting at her home in London and guess who is helping her with it all? The actress’ husband, Sonny Walia. Ask her about it and she says, “Sonny is having a blast, watching me transform from his wife into the character I am playing in this lockdown series. He is very patient with me. I never thought that I would be so comfortable, because even if you can shoot in front of a hundred people on the set, you tend to get conscious around your loved ones.”

The last few months have not been easy, she reveals, given that they had started renovating their home just before the lockdown. “Everything had to be stopped suddenly. So, one day, Sonny and I decided to paint the walls ourselves! Now, the work at home has begun again. We wake up at 4 am and try to complete the shoot by 10 am, after which they start the work,” she shares.

Niki says that she is happy with the kind of work she has been getting in recent times. “Before the lockdown, I did a lot of work in India and there’s work coming to London, too. I shot for a couple of Bollywood films, which are yet to release. I have also got in touch with a few agents and I am in a very happy space workwise,” she says.
