Mridula Oberoi: Jhanak has truly come to me like God’s gift

Actress Mridula Oberoi known for her roles in popular serials such as Kumkum Bhagya, Bhagya Lakshmi, Yeh Hai Chahatein, Naagin 6, Appnapan – Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan, and Baghin, has joined the cast of TV show, Jhanak.

She says, "Jhanak has truly come to me like God’s gift. I’m returning to television after almost two years—my last show was Baghin in 2023. I genuinely feel that whatever I prayed for in these two years has been answered in 2026."




She continued, "In the last two years, I was offered shows, but either I didn’t feel the conviction or things didn’t work out—and I believe it was all about timing. Now when Jhanak has come to me, I feel it’s the right one. Shows today are like relationships—unpredictable—but I truly feel my relationship with Jhanak is going to be a long and beautiful one.”

The actress will be seen essaying the role Gopa in the show.

She adds, "Right now, I can’t say much about Gopa, but from what I understand, she is a very positive and loving woman. She deeply loves her son, comes from a good background, yet is very grounded, welcoming, and considerate. I’m sure her journey will unfold beautifully, and many women and mothers will connect with her as both a woman and a mother. I’ve been fortunate to receive immense love from the audience for characters like Teji in Kumkum Bhagya and Nimmi in Apnapan, and Gopa is again a very unusual name for me on screen. Whenever I’ve played characters with such unique names, they’ve brought me a lot of love, and I truly believe Gopa will receive the same warmth. I wish all the best to the show and to myself.”

She has also appeared in Hindi films like Jug Jugg Jeeyo (2022), Love Aaj Kal 2, and Sukhee.
