Mallika Sherawat in advanced talks for reality show The 50
From the makers of Bigg Boss, the upcoming reality show The 50 is pulling out all the stops to assemble a diverse and high-impact line-up of celebrities. While speculation around the contestants has been steadily gaining momentum, sources tell us that Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat is currently in advanced talks to participate in the show.
A source associated with the production reveals, “Discussions with Mallika have reached an advanced stage, and she is most likely to come on board. The makers have also approached Vivian Dsena for the show, and conversations are ongoing.”
The 50 is expected to feature 50 celebrities and will be shot over a compact schedule of 25 days. Unlike conventional reality formats, the show promises a distinctive narrative style and interactive elements that set it apart. Viewers will not just be spectators but active participants in the unfolding drama.
Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has been roped in to promote the show, lending it strong visibility ahead of its launch. The 50 is slated to premiere on February 1. According to reports, Ridhi Dogra and Karan Patel are also expected to join the line-up.
Conceptually, the show unfolds in a villa setting, presided over by a mysterious masked figure referred to as the ‘lion’, who serves as the sanchalak. Symbolising authority, the lion assigns tasks to the celebrity contestants through selected intermediaries. These challenges test not just performance but also adaptability and strategy, forming the backbone of the show’s entertainment quotient.
Participants who fail to meet expectations face elimination by the sanchalak. The eventual winner will take home a cash prize, which will be handed over to a fan who wins the finale task, reinforcing the show’s interactive premise. The makers, however, are keen to stress that The 50 follows an entirely different creative approach and is not comparable to Bigg Boss.
