These celeb moms were body shamed for their post pregnancy look

Giving birth to a new life is no mean feat and a woman's body has to go through multiple stages to deliver a new life. During this process, the woman gains weight and the body becomes weak but there are a few social media users, who target these women, especially celebs. Recently, Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi actress Smriti Khanna gave birth to a child and within a week, she shed the extra kilos since she hadn't put on much weight because of her body type. However, she was trolled and people termed it as an "unhealthy" regime. Mahhi Vij, too, was trolled and she shut the haters by writing a lengthy post for those who targeted her for excess baby weight. Similarly, there are many TV celebs, who have been at the receiving end of being body shamed. Let's take a look: (Photo: Instagram)

Mahhi Vij

Mahhi Vij has been at the receiving end of online trolls and body-shaming ever since she gave birth to a baby girl. The actress never paid any heed to it and always gave it back. She recently shared a post on body-shaming and revealed all the mean comments she had to go through after becoming a mother. Her post read: "Let’s get one thing straight, Body-shaming someone is never OK, even if the target is a public figure. However, despite the fact that this should be a universal rule of decorum, people are still prone to criticizing the appearances of others, including those of new moms." (Photo: Instagram)

Mahhi's positive approach

Mahhi was subjected to trolls when she wore a green comfy maxi dress to appear on Bigg Boss 13. She shared a picture with Salman Khan and that's when people started trolling her. In her reply to the haters, Mahhi continued to write: "Even after my delivery people used to come to me and say things like you’d look gorgeous if you put down some weight! All I would say, don’t let these comments take a toll on you.. just eat right and let your body heal because you have just delivered a human out of your body! Love your body just the way it is.. I know it might bother you.. but it’s ok..you are beautiful just the way you are, with or without stretch marks or pregnancy scars.. I have a c-section scar in my body and I’m proud of it. All we need is for someone to tell us we are doing great and we look okay. After all growing a baby, carrying them for nine months and then giving birth is the biggest change in a woman's life and she needs all the kindness, power and positivity around her she can get." Neha Dhupia

Roadies fame Neha Dhupia was fat shamed after giving birth to her baby, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. The actress gave it back to social media by writing that these trolls don't bother her but she wanted to address the issue for people like her out there. Neha had written: "I don’t owe anyone an explanation because fatshaming like this doesn’t bother me one bit. But I do want to address this as a larger problem because fatshaming needs to stop for EVERYONE not just celebs. As a new mom I want to be fit, healthy and energetic for my daughter. So I work out everyday, sometimes twice a day because for me...’Fitness’ is a priority and not ‘fitting into’ society’s standards regarding looks. And I hope in the future people are kinder to each other while making such vapid and vile comments. To quote @pattonoswalt ... “Be Kind. It’s chaos out there (sic)" (Photo: Instagram)

Chhavi Mittal

Chhavi Mittal was trolled during her pregnancy for wearing tight clothes. The actress was asked not to wear body-hugging clothes and hide her tummy. The actress gave it back to those trolls by writing: "What I often hear (especially in person) are things like: "How can you wear such tight clothes, aren't you uncomfortable? You're pregnant" My God you're so dressed up for work, even in pregnancy!""Arre pregnant ho, kucch bhi pehno chalega" And my favourite .."You're getting too big now, maybe start hiding the stomach a bit.." I say LOL!! Why should I compromise on my dressing style just because I'm pregnant? It's the MOST beautiful phase of my life, and I'd like to look as beautiful as I feel during this time! And yes, I'm a PROUD big pregnant woman and I'm not afraid or ashamed to flaunt it! Coz let's face it, it's not gonna last forever! (sic)” (Photo: Instagram)
