Recently, Munawar Faruqui revealed his marital status on Lock Upp. While he had his own reasons to hide the big fact, several other celebrities have been in a similar situation. Celebrities in the TV industry have kept their marriage under wraps for multiple reasons, especially to not let it affect their acting career. Lock Upp contestant Munawar Faruqui was made to talk about his marriage in the weekend episode. The popular comedian was questioned about the ongoing speculations of him being married on social media by host Kangana Ranaut. After displaying a blurred picture, apparently of him and his wife, he was asked if he would like to talk about it. While Munawar refused to speak anything on the matter, he agreed to tell the truth later. Munawar revealed that he has been married for years and has a son too. He shared that he and his wife have been separated for the past 1.5 years and the matter is in court too. Munawar further shared that he is doing the show for his son and it is because of him that he didn’t want to discuss the matter in public.

The Kapil Sharma Show’s Archana Puran Singh once revealed that she and her husband Parmeet Sethi had hidden their marriage for four years, from not only the world but their families too. She shared that Parmeet’s parents had an objection with Archana being an actress and refused to get them married. Following this, Parmeet decided to marry her and they tied the knot at a temple. Archana added that they disclosed their marriage to everyone after 4 years.

New parents Gurmeet and Debina hid their marriage from the world as well as their parents for several years. The couple had secretly tied the knot in 2006, even before they bagged good roles and became actors. They were married before they featured in Ramayan. In 2011, Gurmeet and Debina got married in court. The couple had hidden their marriage from not only the public but from their parents and families too. Now, they are parents to a baby girl, whom they welcomed on April 3.

Dharm Yoddha Garud actor Angad Hasija kept his marriage under wraps to not let it affect his career. The actor, who rose to fame with the show Bidaai, revealed being married to the world in 2009. He broke the news about being married and having a nine month old daughter in the same year. Angad cited being too young to be married as the reason behind hiding his marital status. In an interview then, the actor said, “I got married very early. I felt I was too young to be known as a married man. The pressures of career and losing your female fan following were there, so I decided to keep it under wraps for a while.”

Jodha Akbar actress Paridhi Sharma hid her marriage from everyone during her stint in the show. Apparently, the actress was asked to keep mum about her relationship status by the makers during the launch of the show. She is married to Ahmedabad-based Tanmai Saksena. As per the reports, Paridhi was married for over two years when she joined Jodha Akbar.

Uttaran fame Rohit Khurana is another popular TV actor, who kept his marriage under wraps. The only reason he hid his marriage was because he likes to keep his life guarded. It was in 2012 that Rohit revealed about being married and having a son. He told BT, “I am very guarded about my personal life. Those close to me know about my wife and son. I go out for dinners and movies and do everything a normal husband does. My family is my concern and not for the world to know.”

Siya Ke Ram fame Karan Suchak, who is married to Nandita Bhandari, had kept his marriage hidden because he didn’t want the public to know many details of his personal life. The actor wanted to establish himself in the industry before revealing more about his life. “I was trying to establish my career at that time. So, I wanted to earn my audience’s love and connect with them, before they got to know more about my personal life. Now that I am doing a prominent show, it is okay for them to know more about me,” Karan had told TOI.

The news about Narayani Shastri being married came out in 2017. Surprisingly, the actress was married to Steven Graver aka Tony in 2015 and kept it under wraps for almost 1.5 years.
