Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s Sumeet Sachdev aka Gomzi loses 15 kg for his role in TV show Chashni; looks unrecognisable in his new style
Remember Sumeet Sachdev, who played the role of Gautam Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi? Popularly known as Gomzi from the show, the actor shared a few pics on social media sporting a new look. And he looks totally unrecognisable. Here’s what he is up to now:
A salt and pepper look
Looking dapper in a mint green suit, Sumeet Sachdev’s summer outfit is grabbing all the attention and so is his salt and pepper style. He wittily captioned it as, “Sum(m)er is here. In calm green, pristine white and naughty red. Hope that’s what the season is.”
New show, new look
Sumeet is currently seen in TV show Chashni. He is playing the role of Sumer Babbar, Sai Ketan Rao aka Raunaq’s father. Sumeet is seen in a negative role in the show and this new look is totally suiting him.
Losing 15 kilos for Chashni
The actor lost 15 kg to look the part in TV show Chashni. He has also grown his hair length and increased beard density to play the negative role of Sumer Babbar. Sharing photos from the sets, Sumeet wrote, “Hair length - Stubble density - Salt & Pepper intensity ALL FINALISED & yes, 15 kilos lighter to step into a new character for you all. This is him sitting casually in his backyard - doesn't happen often.”
His hair transformation
Sumeet worked on growing his hair length for the role and shared a transformation video of the same. People had been eagerly waiting for Sumeet to be back on-screen, who is still fondly addressed as Gautam Virani.
An 8-hour-long process
An actor has to go through many transformations to look the part for a particular project. Sumeet shared a detailed video of going from black hair to salt and pepper look. It was an eight-hour long process and he had to totally bleach out his hair.
A comeback after 4 years
Sumeet was seen in proper role in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, where he played Abhimanyu Raghav aka Mani from 2016-2019. He was then seen in an episodic in C.I.D.- Daya Ek Hathyara. He returned to full-fledged role with Chashni, which premiered early this month.
What he was up to
Sumeet gained instant recognition for his role as Gomzi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thii and made a prominent position for himself in the Indian television fraternity. While he became immensely popular since he made his appearance with Ekta’s show, he has maintained a low profile. However, he would often share glimpses from his family life. The actor has his own social media and also directs music videos.
