Kaun Banega Crorepati: From Kavita Chawla to Babita Tade; all the female contestants who won Rs 1 crore on the show

Kaun Banega Crorepati 14 got this season’s first crorepati in Kavita Chawla. Over 14 seasons, many women have been crorepatis. They have inspired all with their determination and have set examples. Take a look at all the women contestants who created history by winning and becoming crorepati.

Season 14: Kavita Chawla

Kavita Chawla, a homemaker from Kolhapur, became the first contestant in this season’s Kaun Banega Crorepati to win the cash prize of Rs. 1 crore. Playing the game fluently, she couldn’t answer the question for the jackpot amount – Rs. 7.5 crore. Kavita revealed in the show that she had been preparing for KBC since past 20 years and his son’s books helped her study. Even though Kavita has studied only till Class XII, she has tried to keep her reading and learning interests alive. Kavita participated last year as well but could get through the ‘fastest finger first’ round. This season, as she played the game, she surprised host Big B with not only her knowledge but also her jolly personality.

Season 13: Geeta Singh Gaur

Geeta Singh Gaur (53), a housewife from Gwalior, won Rs 1 crore last season. At the time of her answering the Rs 1 crore question, she had 2 lifelines left. She Geeta attempted the question for Rs 7 crore but decided to quit as she was not confident about her answer. She has spent her life taking care of her home and raising her kids. In a video montage, it was shown Geeta driving a jeep in her hometown, and host Amitabh Bachchan gave her a standing ovation after becoming a crorepati. After winning the amount, she said it was the "second inning" of her life and she wished to live for herself.

Season 12: Nazia Nasim

Nazia Nasim from Ranchi, Jharkhand became season 12's first crorepati. Nazia, from Delhi, played an exceptional game and won Rs 1 crore. Speaking to ETimes TV, Nazia said back then in 2020, “KBC has been around for 12 seasons and 20 years and I was in college when I was first trying for it. Those were the days of landline phones which would be dead for 15-20 days. Then we would go to telephone booths and go to try our luck. We would keep our fingers crossed hoping to get a call back and who knows we would have got a call back but the phone would have been dead, people would have not been able to reach you. There were no emails or handset phones. Then I kept trying and trying but it never worked. It finally happened in 2020. Contrary to the belief 2020 has been quite lucky for me and I will never say that it has been a bad year.”

Season 12: Mohita Sharma

Mohita Sharma is an IPS officer and after winning 1 crore in season 12 after Nazia, she made an interesting revelation. Mohita Sharma said that she considers herself to be lucky – not because she won Rs 1 crore in the show, but because she got two masala sachets in one pack of a popular noodle brand. The IPS officer took to Twitter to share her lucky moment. She wrote, “Just after winning #KBC12, got 2 masala sachets in 1 #maggi packet. Never thought would get so lucky. God is kind today.”

Season 11: Babita Tade

Season 11 had three contestants winning Rs 1 crore and Babita Tade was the female contestant to achieve this feat. Female contestant Babita Tade’s personal story touched everyone’s heart. won a crore. She prepared 'khichdi' for school kids and earned Rs 1500 monthly, which left Big B shocked. Babita quit the game at Rs 7 crore question but she had the right answer to it.

Season 10: Binita Jain

Binita Jain won the tenth season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and later joined a coaching centre in Guwahati. She wanted to give her son a better life with the winning amount.

Anamika Majumdar was a social worker, who was associated with an NGO. The contestant used the winning amount - a crore for the progress of that NGO.

Firoz Fatima became the first crorepati of the seventh season, who had given up studies post her father's demise, utilised the winning amount to stabilise her family's financial condition.

Season 4: Rahat Taslim

Rahat Taslim participated in this quiz show in 2010 and made everyone proud by becoming the first female contestant to win a crore in the seasons so far. Rahat was preparing for her medical exam when she got married and opened a garment mall with the winning amount.

This show is primarily for women welfare. The entire focus of the show and the host is on women which is very evident from the way he pampers them. Some men winning some money is just mislead people. Shame
