It was very old, I guess from the 1950s. He told me, "Today, I want you to sign, right next to your father's signature. It was a very proud moment for me." (Photo: Instagram)

During the episode, Kumar Mangalam Birla opened up about the most emotional phase of his life when he lost his father Aditya Kumar Birla. He was barely 28 years old. He said, "Amitji, as you can imagine, I was very scared and everything was new for me. I'd recite Hanuman Chalisa thrice every day. I'd write Ram Ram on post-its and stick them on the wall. Three walls in my room were full of Post-its. But I had some strength also. I had a good education. I had an MBA. I was a CA. I had worked very closely with Dad for about four years. So I never felt that everything would get ruined. I had the strength as well as the passion to take the business forward. It takes time to build credibility." Big B informed him that his grandmother also maintained a diary in which she wrote Ram Ram when Aditya Kumar Birla fell ill. (Photo: Instagram)

Talking about his bond with his grandfather, Kumar Mangalam Birla shared, "Amitji, you would know, after Dad left, he imparted strength and courage to me. He was also happy to ease some of my workload. But at that time, he was already 70. He had his own obligations and he used to work from 9 am to 6 PM, daily. I didn't think it was right to burden him at the time. But he was always there. After my grandfather passed away, when I opened his cupboard, I saw there were only 2-3 kurta, dhotis, three suits and a watch. He was a textile baron but he lived a very simple life. He was like a saint." (Photo: Instagram)

Every day at 7 PM, he messages me 'Have you eaten dinner, eat on time, eat properly. He always asks me to enjoy my work. Then after five days, he will say you didn't tell me." The revelation left everyone in splits of laughter, including his daughters and host Big B. She added, "Then I remind him, remember we talked about this 5 days ago, then he blames me of not remembering things. It's a constant banter between us.
