Jamie Lever on her dad Johnny being tough with her

Jamie Lever, in an exclusive interview with ETimes TV, spoke about how father Johnny Lever has been tough on her. "He was really tough on me because he knew, it's difficult here and he's seen the struggle himself. He felt that people will criticise and judge me, they will be hard on me because I am Johnny Lever's daughter, who's done 300-400 movies. He very well knew people will be hard on me, so he would say, 'tu bahar jaane se pehle yahan ro le taaki bahar rona na pade' (Instead of going out and crying, you cry here first). He made sure that I understood and learnt it the tough way. I cried before saying every joke but I am very happy and thankful that I saw this phase too and because of that experience, I became tough. They say comedy comes from tragedy, so, even I had to suffer a few tragedies but it's okay," said Jamie.

Ronit Roy on Swarn Ghar's comparison to Baghban

Ronit Roy has returned to TV with Swarn Ghar and the plot of the show has been compared with Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini's film, Baghban. Talking about it, in an interview with ETimes TV, Ronit said, "The concept of Swaran Ghar is not similar to Baghban. For me this is a love story between a man and a woman. Because of that love story there are three kids. Our show is not like the film but it has a few shades. The Baghban plot might be a small part of our show but we are not making or recreating another Baghban. It is a love story between a parent and a parent’s love story with their kids. It is about that, the storyline is not that the parents have grown old or the kids are bad, or the parents have been abandoned by the kids. That is a very small part of the show. It is a very extensive show with a lot of things in it."

Pooja Banerjee quits Kumkum Bhagya

There are times when baby gets a rash so how to deal with it, so there are so many things I have to learn and understand. I need to be prepared for everything," said Pooja.

Rannvijay Singha on being trolled for offering MBA degree to an IIT-PhD graduate

The entrepreneur was an IIT-PhD and was offered an MBA degree on Shark Tank India got him heavily trolled. Reacting to it, Rannvijay told ETimes TV, "I’ve done Splitsvilla and Roadies and by now I am used to memes, spoofs. The amount and the level of spoofs that were done on us, people can’t even imagine. In fact, some of them actually made a platform out of it. The first spoof that was made on us by a streaming platform, it gave that platform recognition. I know this as I like to keep myself current. When Michael Jordan cried they made memes on it, he became current. He is the guy who I follow for many reasons. When a meme is made on you it means you are doing something which is getting noticed and you are current. I know that it is my job as a host on that show and I’ve to do it. I am not there to judge that if you have three other degrees, I should give you this or I shouldn't. As per the concept of the show it is the Sharks who decide that you should be given this. Another point is that there are many engineers, who also do an MBA, it is not connected but it’s because they want to cover all their bases. You can do an MBA or engineering from the biggest institutes but you might not know a lot about digital marketing. There’s a possibility. Like I don’t know anything about law but if someone offers me a law degree I would love to do it. Because I want to know the contracts I am getting into. I always think that law is one thing that I’d always wanted to do. A person who is well educated, that person will always understand the value of an extra degree or education."

Rahil Azam on not trying for Bollywood

In an interview with ETimes TV, Maddam Sir actor Rahil Azam said, "No. I was very lazy. I got TV and just got stuck to it. I could have tried for Bollywood but once I started doing TV, I did not get time. I tried to work in Television, take up each serial like a film. I would never do a show for more than a year. There are only two shows - Hatim and Yeh Meri Life Hai that I did for a year. All the other shows have been in between 4-8 months because I have considered every serial of mine as a film. The role which, I've played, I've considered it to be a part of that 2.5 hours' film. Once that character's juice is squeezed out there is nothing left for me to do in it. So, then I switch on to another show. Before switching on to another show there is a lot of gap in between because I look out for the correct kind of a character, which would break the image of the previous character that I've done. This process began and I never thought about films. This pattern that I have been following, is now introduced in the web medium. If web would have been at that time, it would have done wonders for me. Now, I would definitely focus on web. I have done a bit of work on web now but that pattern of working on the web is something that I would love to do it. There is no telecast deadline, even in terms of creativity, you are free. Finally, web is my focus."
