Ishita Dutta reveals how she lost 15 kgs in 2 months postpartum; says, “I can’t even explain how painful…”
Ishita Dutta, who is a mother of two, recently shared her weight loss secret and opened up about the struggles she went through during her pregnancy. Ishita welcomed her first son, Vaayu, in 2023 and her second son, Veda, in 2025. She took to her Instagram handle and shared a video while talking about her weight loss journey.
Ishita shared, “I lost 15 kgs in less than two months. Want to know my secret? Hate to break it to you, but there is no secret. Today, I’m going to answer all the DMs I’ve been getting over the last eight months about my weight loss journey. My first two trimesters were amazing. I travelled, I worked, I had a lot of fun, and I ate a lot. In my sixth month, I was put on complete bed rest because I was at risk of preterm delivery.”
She further said, “While dealing with that, I started getting unbearable abdominal pain and was rushed to the hospital. This happened two to three times, and eventually, scans showed that I had gallbladder stones. Because I was pregnant, surgery was not an option, and I was still only in my seventh month. We had to wait longer, and the only option was to endure the pain.”
While talking about the struggles during her pregnancy, she said, “I can’t even explain how painful it was. I would be screaming in pain and rushed to the hospital. Because I was pregnant, they couldn’t give me painkillers or anything strong. I had to wait for the pain to settle, then be sent back home, only for the same thing to happen again and again. Eight months passed, and I started getting contractions. I was rushed to the hospital and delivered my baby. But the struggle did not end there.”
Later, she said, “After delivery, I couldn’t get the operation immediately because my body had already gone through so much. I had just delivered, I was breastfeeding, I couldn’t take any painkillers, and I still couldn’t take any strong medication. I was advised to wait at least 40 days before attempting the surgery. Almost 40 days postpartum, after I don’t even know how many pain attacks, we finally decided to go ahead with the surgery, and it was safe for me to get it done. I had my gallbladder removed.”
“Even post-delivery, unfortunately, my struggle did not end. I was now trying to heal from the surgery. My body was adjusting to the fact that I no longer had a gallbladder, and I was still on dietary restrictions for quite some time. This is how I lost so much weight. There is no secret. There is no magic. There is no shortcut. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask in the comments below,” she added.
