I prefer home-cooked food for Dussehra: Ronit Roy

Ronit Roy shares his festive plans
I prefer home-cooked food for Dussehra: Ronit Roy
Ronit Roy believes in simple, no-frills and happy celebrations at home when it comes to Navratri and Dussehra.
He says, “I enjoy the festival with close friends and family at home. It was my birthday on October 11, so the maharaj (cook) prepared puri, halwa, undhiyu and small kachoris. My mother makes delicious payasam, which I enjoy eating all day. We also make channa, aloo ki sabji and interesting Bengali dishes.
I am a foodie, but I prefer to be at home and enjoy home-cooked food. My wife Neelam is a North Indian, so she will make North Indian food, while my mother will make Bengali food. In fact, if the cook decides to make paneer then some 5-6 varieties of paneer are made during the festival days.”
The actor believes that the beauty of the festival lies in the flowers, puja, decorations and the diyas that are lit up in the house. He says, “There is so much positivity attached to the whole celebration. My family celebrates both the navratras that come twice in a year. We also refrain from eating meat. I just enjoy that people come home, savour the variety of snacks and participate in our puja during this time.”
