I just want to keep doing something new: Rachi Sharma
With her new show Do Duniya Ek Dil, Rachi Sharma believes she’s stepping into a space that reflects the present moment—both emotionally and socially. “Every time you do a new role, it’s exciting,” she says. “And thankfully, all my characters have been different. My first show was different, my second show was different… before this, I was doing a horror show.”
So when the offer for Do Duniya Ek Dil came, her first instinct was to understand the concept. “The first thing I asked was—what’s the story? And when they told me, I was like, okay… this is something very different. Very interesting. A 2026 show, I would say. Because this is what’s happening around us. It has love, family emotions—everything that people enjoy. But the awareness that we are bringing is very important. This is not just about entertainment. There is something we are saying through the story… and that matters”
Having explored multiple genres already, she’s also conscious of not being boxed into repetitive storytelling. “I have done typical drama because I chose to do it. And I respect that work. But of course, I would want something different now. Every kind of show has its own audience. Everyone has their own place.”
For Rachi, the project represents exactly what she’s been seeking—roles that evolve with the times, and with her as an actor. “I just want to keep doing something new. That’s always exciting.”
