Actress Ekta Jain recently celebrated Gudi Padwa with a special shoot, reflecting her strong connect with Indian culture and traditions. “I love all festivals of India. I celebrate Gudi Padwa wholeheartedly and make an effort to share its significance with people,” she said. Born in Calicut and raised in Maharashtra, Ekta has had a diverse journey—from being a state-level handball goalkeeper to completing civil defence training and becoming a certified first aider. After moving to Mumbai, she pursued education, trained in boxing, won the “Miss Malad” title, and began her career in theatre, performing in Hindi, Gujarati, Sanskrit and Hinglish plays.Alongside her cultural connect, Ekta is also keen to explore diverse opportunities in her acting career. Emphasising her openness to new-age storytelling, she shared, “I am always open to working in interesting films and OTT shows. Today, content is evolving so beautifully, and platforms have expanded the scope for actors.” She added that strong narratives and meaningful roles are her priority. “For me, it’s not about the medium but the story. I want to be part of projects that challenge me as an actor and allow me to grow creatively,” she said.
She went on to feature in popular television shows like Family No. 1, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Shagun, Kahin Diya Jale Kahin Jiya, and Naina, along with playing Ganga in a mythological series. In films, she appeared in Taal, Nayak – The Real Hero, Anjaane – The Unknown, and Khali Bali.Sharing her philosophy, she added, “God has sent us into this world to perform our duties, and I am fulfilling my responsibilities with sincerity. I have also pledged to donate my eyes and organs."
