Recently, Arshi Khan came out in the open to speak about her "possible" engagement with an Afghan Cricketer. The TV actress said that after the Taliban has taken over Afghanistan, she fears for her engagement, and her parents might call it off. She told a news agency, "I was to get engaged in October with an Afghanistan cricketer. He had been chosen by my father. But after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, we may have to put an end to the relationship."

Arshi Khan claimed that she has been bullied at times because people misunderstand her to be a Pakistani. The actress stresses that she is an Indian and has roots in Afghanistan. Arshi said in an interview, "I'm an Afghani Pathan, and my family belongs to the Yusuf Zaheer Pathan ethnic group. My grandfather had migrated from Afghanistan and was a jailer in Bhopal. My roots are in Afghanistan but I am an Indian citizen."
